Our Take
To The Top Construction is a full-service general contractor based in Middle Island, a community on Long Island where nearly one in four residents is age 65 or older and homeownership runs deep. The company's core work spans bathroom and kitchen remodeling, deck building, and new construction - the kind of broad residential expertise that translates well to aging-in-place projects.
For someone planning modifications to stay home safely as mobility or independence needs change, To The Top Construction's listed capabilities align with several key upgrades: bathroom safety work including walk-in tub installation, walk-in shower conversion, grab bar placement, and ADA-compliant toilet installation. They also handle interior accessibility features like wider doorways, non-slip flooring, and countertop adjustments - practical changes that reduce fall risk and make daily routines less physically demanding. First floor living modifications, another specialty they mention, address the real challenge many face of managing stairs.
The company holds an early 4.0 rating across four reviews, which is a small sample but offers an honest starting point. Early feedback suggests customers found their work reliable, though this limited track record means you'd want to ask about their specific experience with aging-in-place projects and request references from similar work.
What's worth noting is their status as a full-service general contractor rather than a specialty accessibility firm. This can be an advantage for comprehensive projects - kitchen and bathroom work often pair naturally with grab bar systems, flooring changes, and door widening. It can also mean calling in specialists for certain details, which is fine as long as the coordination is clear and tracked.
For a Middle Island homeowner or their family considering bathroom safety upgrades, accessibility modifications, or first floor reconfigurations, To The Top Construction warrants a conversation about scope, timeline, and past work on similar aging-in-place needs.
