Our Take
Affordable Kitchens Inc serves the Montclair area with a straightforward menu of kitchen and bathroom remodeling work. Their service range spans countertop installation, cabinetry, flooring, tile, and painting - the kinds of foundational interior updates that often matter for aging-in-place planning. For homeowners thinking about accessibility modifications, the company's bathroom renovation work is the natural entry point, particularly given how central bathroom safety becomes as mobility and balance shift with age.
On paper, their service list aligns with several aging-in-place priorities: walk-in shower conversions, grab bar installation, non-slip flooring, walk-in tubs, and ADA-compliant toilet work all appear within their stated capabilities. Countertop lowering and first-floor living reconfiguration also sit in their wheelhouse. These are real modifications that make daily routines safer and more manageable for older adults who want to stay in their homes longer.
The company operates from a Montclair address in a community where about one in four residents is over 65, and where most households own their homes - a demographic and housing profile that typically aligns with aging-in-place investment. Montclair itself sits in the Los Angeles metro, so local familiarity with the area's housing stock and permit requirements matters.
Public feedback is limited: early ratings suggest a 5.0 rating, though based on just a single review. That single data point is positive but doesn't yet establish a clear pattern of customer experience across multiple projects. Homeowners considering a remodeling contractor should always ask for references specific to accessibility work, get detailed estimates in writing, and clarify timeline and warranty terms before committing.
If you're looking at a bathroom or kitchen update with aging-in-place priorities in mind, Affordable Kitchens Inc is worth a direct conversation about your specific accessibility needs and their experience with similar modifications.
